Surroundings Beach apartments Vlieduyn
Landal Vlieduyn is an excellent base for exploring the island. There is plenty to do not only on the island but also on the water. Join a seal tour to see dozens of seals in their natural habitat. Alternatively, hop on your bike and explore the Kroons polders. In the village of Oost-Vlieland, you can unwind over lunch or dinner.
Seal tour
Join the tour, hop in the rubber dinghy, and count the seals sunbathing on a sandbar. You will see them up close if you duck around the boat.
Tromp's Huys Museum
In Vlieland's oldest building, see the work of marine painter Betzy Akersloot-Berg. Paintings of shipwrecks, drownings, and long journeys. Temporary exhibitions are also held on a regular basis.
Horseback riding
To discover Vlieland on horseback, head to riding schools De Seeruyter and Stal Edda. From here you can immerse yourself in nature with an exciting outdoor ride through woods and dunes and across the wide beach.

Vliehors Express
This tough truck will transport you to the western part of Vlieland, where a 20-square-kilometer sandy plain awaits you. It is also known as the Northern Sahara. You will stop along the way at the famous Drenkelingenhuisje.
Fire Dune' Lighthouse
View this lighthouse from the inside as well as the outside. Climb 42 metres to the summit for a panoramic view of the village, the North Sea, and the Wadden Sea.
Vlielander Cheese Bunker
You can sample up to seven different cheeses in a bunker near the lighthouse. There is the well-known seaweed cheese, but there are also new experiments. Those who wish may enter the bunkers under supervision to see where the cheeses ripen.

Fortuna Brewery
Fortuna Vlieland produces craft beer as well as sparkling water. This brewery is unique in that they use as many island ingredients as possible. You can also visit the exhibition space and movie room, as well as taste beer in the tasting room.
Bunker Museum WN 12H
If you enjoy history, you should not miss a visit to this bunker. After all, World War II left its imprint on Vlieland. You will learn everything about this period while accompanied by a guide.
Beach comber's Museum 't Reddingshuisje
Formerly a rescue house, it is now a drowning house. Vliehors Expres owns it and has turned it into a beachcomber museum. Here you will find a mishmash of seaworthiness. Definitely worth seeing.

East Vlieland
The only village and thus the most important location in Vlieland. This area is densely packed with monuments. You are, however, welcome to join us for lunch or dinner.
Crown's polders
Get on your bike and ride to this special nature reserve, which is home to rare orchids. This is caused by the interaction of salt and fresh water. Furthermore, bird watching is popular here.
By boat to Texel
