Huis Bergh Castle
Take a trip back to the Middle Ages at Huis Bergh Castle in ‘s-Heerenberg. One of the largest moated castles in the Netherlands. See the internationally renowned collection of late-medieval art and the coin and weapons room.
Open-air museum
Experience history in the Dutch Open-air Museum. Visit the grounds, farms, houses, mills and the farmhouse cafe. Travel by historic tram or walk. Children can play at the children’s farm.

Het Bergherbos
Discover the Bergherbos in Montferland, a wonderful hiking forest surrounded by fields. There’s a lookout tower at the highest point, Hulzenberg, from which you can see Germany if the weather’s fine. The view makes the climb worth it!
Het Land van Jan Klaassen
You can find this fantastic recreation park for young children right behind the park. Enjoy exciting adventures in the Netherlands’ largest puppet theatre. Slide down the turbo slide together or go on the family swing together.
Emmerich am Rhein
Take a peek at our neighbours! Visit Emmerich am Rhein and stroll along one of the most beautiful Rhine promenades in Germany. Enjoy a cup of coffee on a lovely terrace as you gaze out over the Rhine.

Wildpark Anholter Schweiz
Come animal spotting and feeding at Biotopwildpark Anholter Schweiz. This large wildlife park features over 6 km of hiking trails. During your walk, you will pass more than 50 different animal species living here in a natural environment.
Veluwezoom National Park
This 5,000-hectare nature reserve forms part of the Veluwe. Here you will find untouched nature with forests, moors, sand drifts and country estates. Nowhere else in the Veluwe will you find so many hills and such beautiful views.
Doesburg
Doesburg is the cultural Hanseatic city on the IJssel. Why not take a guided tour or climb the towers, or even visit the Lalique Museum and Stadsbierhuys de Waag - the oldest catering establishment in the Netherlands.
