As soon as you board the boat, the holiday can begin. There’s plenty to do on Texel, from culture, nature to action. Take a wonderful beach walk or cycle through the dunes to the wonderful Texel villages. Climb the big red lighthouse and watch the sun rise and set over the sea. Everything here breathes holiday.
De Slufter Nature Reserve
The North Sea has been given free rein in this nature reserve, just like the special marine animals and birds that are frequently found here. Take one of the footpaths and see the channel to the sea and who knows, you may spot a seal.
Ecomare
Seals and sea birds are the natural inhabitants of Texel. At Ecomare, you will catch more than one glimpse of them and learn everything about the lives of these animals, during one of the feeding shows or in the special lab for children.
De Garnalenboot
Sail away on a voyage over the Waddenzee. The skipper shows you what has been caught in the nets: besides shrimps, this includes crabs, weever fish and perhaps a sand shark. And you can take the shrimps home freshly cooked.

Museum Kaap Skil
A unique museum filled with stories and adventures. See the treasures found in shipwrecks, discover the Reede van Texel (ships’ graveyard) and step back in time in the open-air museum. A fun and educational day out!
Texel Beer Brewery
"Text Beer Brewery makes the famous Skuumkoppe. All ingredients originate from the island. Take a tour and learn how brewing works. And don’t forget: get a taste of traditional craft beer."
Shipwreck and Beachcombers Museum Flora
Visit the first and largest beachcomber’s museum in the world and enter into this paradise of beachcombing and fishing. The exhibition’s heart is a colourful collection of objects washed up on Texel's beach over the past 75 years.

Texel Zoo
Reptiles, birds of prey, meerkats and over 35 species of animal: you can visit them all at Texel Zoo, close to the holiday park. The birds of prey shows that take place here every day are also a spectacular experience for the whole family.
Texel Lighthouse
The iconic Texel lighthouse is beautiful to see but even better to climb. While climbing, learn all about the history of the island and enjoy the view from the top.
Texel War Museum
Did you know that the war didn’t start on Texel until after the Netherlands had been liberated? Visit the exhibition on WW2’s aerial war and find out more about the Georgian uprising, earning Texel the name of ‘Europe’s last battlefield’.

By ferry to Vlieland
Island hoppers board the Vriendschap ferry. Hop on board for a day out on Vlieland, and the Vriendschap will bring you straight back to Texel at the end of the day. They also organise sea lion tours.
